To all outward appearances, Pewque (pronounced pee-walk) is simply a quaint little town with a beautiful square and a classic town hall. But Pewque hides a deep secret, a secret that affects nearly every man, woman, and child in the world. Among the residents, there have always been persistent rumors of witches and dark powers concealed in the deep woods that surround the town. Because of this gossip, most of the town’s residents are aware that there is a secret, and most of them are afraid of it. They whisper about it only in private settings and, even then, in low voices.
